TalentM
TalentM vs. HubSpot

A great CRM. Built for a different job.

HubSpot is a strong generic CRM — but it doesn’t know creators, deliverables or self-billing. When a talent agency needs more than pipelines.

Side by side

The honest comparison.

HubSpot: Core strength — this is what it’s built for
TalentM: Not our focus — keep your marketing stack

Contact & deal pipeline CRM

TalentM: Built in — stages and engagement types are your data

TalentM: Built in — YouTube & Instagram auto-fetched

Rate cards & shareable media kits (SetCards)

HubSpot: Not a native concept
TalentM: Built in — versioned, tracked share links

Campaign briefs with per-creator deliverables

HubSpot: Model it yourself with custom objects & workflows
TalentM: Built in — pending → submitted → approved

GoBD e-invoicing for German agencies (gap-free, immutable)

HubSpot: Not a core feature — typically a separate accounting tool
TalentM: Built in — enforced at the database level

XRechnung / EN 16931 e-invoices

HubSpot: Via third-party tools
TalentM: Built in (Pro & Enterprise)

Creator self-billing (§ 14 Abs. 2 UStG Gutschrift)

HubSpot: Not a native concept
TalentM: Built in — with creator approval via portal

Contracts with usage-rights tracking & e-signature

HubSpot: Quote e-signature; full contract tooling via integrations
TalentM: Clause library + sealed in-app signing

Client & creator portals

HubSpot: Customer portal for service tickets
TalentM: Built in — for brands and for every creator

In fairness

HubSpot is enough when…

  • You mainly need marketing automation, landing pages and a sales pipeline.
  • What you sell is standardized — subscriptions or services, not people, deliverables and usage rights.
  • Invoicing already lives in a dedicated accounting tool your Steuerberater is happy with.
  • You have RevOps capacity to build and maintain custom objects and workflows for the agency-specific parts.

The tipping point

You’ve outgrown it when…

  • Your pipeline items are creators with rate cards, deliverables and usage-rights windows — not just deal amounts.
  • Won deals get re-typed into a separate invoicing tool, and creator payouts are reconciled by hand.
  • A brand asks for an XRechnung, or your Steuerberater asks for the creator’s self-billing consent.
  • Campaign and deliverable status lives in spreadsheets next to the CRM instead of inside it.

Questions

Asked before switching.

Can we keep HubSpot for marketing and run operations on TalentM?

Yes — TalentM runs the agency operations: roster, campaigns, contracts and invoicing. Many teams keep their existing marketing stack for newsletters, landing pages and automation; the two coexist without conflict.

Does TalentM replace the CRM part of HubSpot?

For agency operations, yes: TalentM has accounts, contacts and a deals pipeline — built around creators, campaigns and payouts. TalentM is not a marketing-automation suite and doesn’t try to be one; if your sales motion depends on inbound funnels, keep that where it is.

Can we migrate our HubSpot data?

Contacts, companies and deals export from HubSpot as CSV and can be created in TalentM from that data. Everything in TalentM is exportable again (CSV/XML) at any time — no lock-in in either direction.
